A Hilarious Tale of Fortune, Family, and Foolery

In Edison, New Jersey, the wealthiest man in the tri-state area, Mr. Tarik Hassan, has built an empire through shrewd business sense and an iron grip on his wallet. Standing 5’5”, dressed in a funny hat, oversized coat, and mismatched shoes, he’s a force to be reckoned with—especially when he’s mad. Known for his legendary temper, wild leg kicks, and dramatic rants, Mr. Tarik has a habit of storming into a room and leaving people both entertained and bewildered.

But what Mr. Tarik doesn’t realize is that his generosity is legendary, too—without him even knowing it.

His wife, Ruqayya, a homemaker with a heart for charity, has mastered the art of tricking him into sponsoring community events, funding orphanages, and supporting women’s initiatives—all while making him think it was his idea. His daughter, Hanifah, a schoolteacher, and her husband, Ibrahim Abdul Haqq Muhammad, an Imam and college professor, take things a step further, volunteering him for one grand venture after another.

To make matters worse, Imam Abdul Haqq’s group of mischievous 10–12-year-old students follow Mr. Tarik around, mimicking his every outburst, copying his tantrums, and—unbeknownst to him—making him the most beloved and comically admired figure in the community.

While he rants and raves about money, his wife, daughter, and son-in-law secretly push his wealth toward noble causes, steadily increasing both his fortune and his popularity. The more he tries to tighten his grip on his riches, the more fate conspires to make him richer.

A laugh-out-loud comedy filled with pranks, family schemes, and unexpected success, Funny Mr. Tarik is a delightful tale of a tight-fisted millionaire who becomes a legend in spite of himself.
